Lord God, I thank Thee for the light
Which I have eyes to see;
I could not love it without sight
Which Thou didst give to me.
I thank Thee also for the sod
Which I have feet to tread,
And for my taste I thank Thee, God
And for my daily bread.
I thank Thee for my sense of touch,
And for the things I feel;
My boundless gratitude I give
Because they are so real.
I thank Thee for the music sweet
Which someday I shall hear,
And for the promise of that life
In which there is no fear.
No words can tell my thankfulness
For Christ, my Lord, my King
Who suffered, died upon the cross
This hope of life to bring.
I thank Him for a thousand things
There is not space to tell;
My heart a thankful anthem sings:
“Jehovah hath done well”.
