Contrast
by Arthur Griffith
God’s mercies shine brightest
In times of despair.
How could we be thankful
Were skies always fair?
He brings light from darkness,
Joy out of pain,
Sunshine from shadows,
Abundance from rain.
In sorrow and sadness
He gives us a hope.
The helpless He strengthens
With power to cope.
So, turning from darkness,
We seek for the light,
And glimpsing the evil,
We cherish the right. |
